NEW MADRID -- New Madrid County Central's softball team ran its record to 11-0 on Tuesday, blanking Scott City 5-0.

Heather Robey picked up the win, allowing one hit and one walk over seven innings. She finished with 14 strikeouts.

"It was a lot like our game on Monday (against Gideon)," said NMCC head coach Steve Rogers. "We got everybody in and had some timely hitting."

Kaci Cartwright had Scott City's only hit. NMCC saw hits from Megan Rinehart, Heather Redd, Jenni Glenn and Laura Carter.

Scott City's Megan Greshman was charged with the loss.

NMCC will host Portageville on Thursday at 4 p.m.

CHAFFEE - Chaffee added another impressive win to its collection on Tuesday, blistering Woodland 16-5. Freshman pitcher Whitney Horrell had another solid outing, allowing two earned runs on six hits and five walks. She finished with nine strikeouts, improving to 3-0 on the year.

"She really did a good job," said Chaffee coach Debbie Lewis. "The girls came out and played a hard ballgame. It's the first year Woodland has put out a team, but they're decent. We just had a good offensive game."

Brandie Snider paced Chaffee's offense, batting 3-for-3. Kegan Orr was 2-for-4 with a triple, Mallory Kiefer was 2-for-4, Lindsey Everett was 2-for-2 and Whitney was 2-for-3. Abby Walter and Casie Guzman each contributed a double.

Chaffee (5-2) will face Advance in the first round of the Chaffee Tournament on Friday at 6 p.m.
