WASHINGTON - Neither the clerk of the House or the federal election commission has received required campaign-finance statements from any of the three candidates in Tuesday's District 8 primary election, despite the fact that the filing deadline was July 22. Aids for State Rep. Jerry Ford (D-Cape Girardeau) and former Crawford county prosecutor John L. Woodward said they mailed their statements this week and conceded that they were late. However neither camp responded to invitations to read their pre-election statements over the telephone to the Daily Standard Washington Bureau. Frances X. Hastings who joined Woodward in recently entering the race to challenge U.S. Rep Bill Emerson (R-10th District), has no 1982 campaign statements of any kind.
