WILHOIT, Ariz. - Ruth Laverne Shuffit, 76, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 1, 2005, at the Hospice Family Care Center in Peoria/Sun City.
Born Jan. 12, 1928, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Anthony N. and Ora Johnson Miederhoff, she was of the Catholic belief and had been employed as a scrub technician.
In 1945, she married Ray E. Shuffit who preceded her in death on June 28, 1998.
Survivors include: one brother, Robert Miederhoff of Las Vegas; three sisters, Dorothy Miederhoff of Wittier, Calif., and Margaret Sterr and Doris Miederhoff of Stillwell, Okla.; four nephews, Jeff Miederhoff of Las Vegas, Steve Miederhoff of Forrest Lake, Calif., Dana Sterr of San Antonio and Delbert Brown of Stillwell; one niece, Lisa Berry of Wilhoit; and five great-nephews, one great-niece, one great-great-nephew and two great-great-nieces.
Visitation is from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with Monsignor Stephen Schneider, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Sikeston, officiating.
