Bill Stone

BERNIE --Bill Stone, 67, died May 3, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 18, 1935, at Peach Orchard, son of the late Elmer "Ham" and Omega Nolen Stone, he was a member of the Bernie United Methodist Church and Dexter Elks Lodge 2439. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a farmer.

On May 29, 1952, at Pocahontas, Ark., he married Jeanette White who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons and one daughter-in-law, Danny and Cindy Stone, Eddie Stone and Dennis Stone of Bernie; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie Pleimling and Angie and Royce Smothers of Bernie; two brothers, Bob Stone of Wappapello and Jerrell Stone of Bernie; one sister, Hyten Buesking of Poplar Bluff; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. The Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiated.

Burial followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
