BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. - Richard M. Lucy, 85, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 10:20 a.m. Oct. 5, 2004, at the Westminster Retirement Village in Blytheville.
Born Jan. 2, 1919, in Laforge, Mo., to the late Fed and Mary Lucy, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a former member of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston. He worked as a superintendent of the water department for the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities.
On July 25, 1964, in Sikeston he married Wilma D. Allen, who preceded him in death on May 22, 1986. Also he was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one stepdaughter.
Survivors include: three sons, Doug Lucy of Muncie, Ind., Dewayne Lucy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Gary Lucy of Hendersonville, Ky; one stepson, Kenneth Cunningham of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three daughters, Caroline Delplane of Blytheville, Karen Marberry of Fort Meyers Beach, Fla., and Harriett Williamson of Hendersonville; one sister, Pearl Hessling of Dexter, Mo.; and 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until time for services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Doug Lucy, pastor of the Church of God in Muncie will officiate assisted by the Rev. Carl Addison, pastor of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard.
