MINER -- Jennifer Marie Woods and Scotty Dale Melton exchanged wedding vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony Feb. 21, 2004, at Miner Baptist Church. Jim Barnhart, associate pastor, performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Rick and Mary Woods of Russellville, Ky., and the late Glenda Woods. Parents of the bridegroom are John and Jan Massey of Benton and Dale Melton of Malden.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a satin embroidered strapless gown designed with delicate piping on the bodice. The front of the dress featured a redingote insert trimmed with embroidered and beaded applique accented with a matching shawl.
Music for the ceremony was provided by musician Wendy Self and vocalists Russell Pruiett and Lisa Degen.
Emily Stickles of Dexter attended the bride as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Ashley O'Guinn of Sikeston, Melissa Vanness of Morley and Nikki Melton of Sikeston. Jordan Elizabeth Zurmiller, daughter of Tom and Dawn Zurmiller of Tipton and Emma Rae Ann Vanness, daughter of Taylor and Melissa Vanness of Morley, were flower girls.
Best man was Daniel Woods of Russellville and groomsmen were Russell Pruiett of Fulton, Ky., Thomas Ratledge of Benton and Chad Melton of Sikeston. Ring bearers were Bryce Owen Melton and Trae Alexander Melton, sons of Chad and Nikki Melton of Sikeston. Ushers were David Terrell of Sikeston, Taylor Vanness of Morley and Jay Lancaster of Sikeston.
Candlelighters were Shelby Wagoner of Blodgett and Kristen Imhoff of California, Mo., and guest attendants were Michelle Terrell and Susan Horn.
The wedding reception followed the ceremony at the church.
Following a honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple is making their home in Miner.
