ALTENBURG -- Betty J. Cato, 76, formerly of Dexter and Marble Hill, died April 16, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 12, 1926, in Paragould, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie Mae Underwood Simpson.
On Dec. 27, 1941, at Bloomfield, she married Orville Cato who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Roger Dale Cato of Paducah, Ky.; one daughter, Sandra Lee Cooper of Columbus, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Five brothers, Charles Simpson, Arthur Simpson, Ralph Simpson, Keith Simpson and Samuel Simpson; and three sisters, Ruth Pulliam, June Seymour and Pauline Thorton, preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Randel Poole of Marble Hill will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
