CHAFFEE -- Jerry L. Gilliland, 69, died April 14, 2003, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born May 13, 1933, in Sikeston, son of the late Aubrey and Elsie Sneed Gilliland, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War.

On Aug. 26, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., he married Lettie Carlene Greenlee who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Tammi Gilliland McCraw of Marble Hill; one brother, David Gilliland of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Carolyn Holmes of Sikeston; one granddaughter, Sydney McCraw of Marble Hill; and three stepgrandchildren, Cody McCraw, Cole McCraw and Casey McCraw of Marble Hill.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Dewayne Coleman, pastor of Canalou Baptist Church, and the Rev. Don Russell, pastor of New Life Christian Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery with full military honors provided by the New Madrid American Legion Post 595.
