CHARLESTON -- Edward Lee "Eddie" Humphrey, 69, died at 11 p.m. April 13, 2003, at his home.
Born April 18, 1933, near East Prairie, son of the late Edward Finel and Norma Lee Douglas Humphrey, he was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County and a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist belief.
On Nov. 2, 1951, he married Verla Carter who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Dennis Humphrey of Winfield and Terry Humphrey and Jeff Humphrey of Charleston; two daughters, Jackie Meeks of Bertrand and Carla Miller of Charleston; one sister, Sandra McCameron of Charleston; and 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Edward "Jimmy" Humphrey and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Lynn Humphrey.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Raymond Hannah of Farmington will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Dennis Page Humphrey, Eric Humphrey, Terry Humphrey Jr., Nathan Humphrey, Dustin Humphrey and James Miller.
