CHARLESTON - George G. Brown, 75, died at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 18, 2002, at his son's home in St. Louis.
Born Sept. 7, 1926, in Wyatt, son of the late James Arthur and Birdie Fox Brown, he lived in St. Louis for many years, where he was employed by A.O. Smith Company until retiring in 1991. He returned to Charleston seven years ago, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church.
On Jan. 2, 1948, at East Prairie, he married Ruth Marshall who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Helen Brown of Affton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and James Spindel of Wildwood and LaDonna and James Ward of Fenton; one brother, David Brown of Denver, Colo., and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Jennifer Leiendecker, Jason Brown, Jeremy Brown, Aaron Ward, Andrew Ward, Chris Spindel and Jim Spindel.
