KENNETT - William Russell Jeffers, 80, formerly of Pascola, died April 8, 2003, at the Heritage Nursing Center.
Born March 31, 1923, in Pascola, he was the son of the late Sidney Russell and Georgia Grace Jackson Jeffers.
On Dec. 23, 1947, in New Madrid, he married Nellie Katherine Strode who preceded him in death in 1989.
Survivors include: three sons, Richard Eugene Jeffers and Tony Mark Jeffers of Caruthersville and Larry Mangrum of St. Louis; three daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela Dial of Caruthersville, Patricia Cum of Auxasse and Joyce Carnahan of Atlanta; three brothers, Jack Jeffers of West Covina, Calif., George Jeffers of Sylvia and Shirley Jeffers of St. Louis; six sisters, Evelyn Walls of Clinton, Inez Duncan and Olive Jeffers of Chicago, Ill., Jerry McWhirter of House Springs, Emma Duke of St. Ann and Francis Drummond of Fort Smith, Ark.; and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were two sons, William Harold and Russell Lee Jeffers; one daughter, Alice Emma Jeffers; and one brother, Bob Duncan.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Mark Inman will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
