Pobst excels in classroom and on court

SIKESTON -- Stephen Pobst, former Sikeston High School tennis standout, earned Academic All-Conference status as a sophomore at the University of Missouri-St. Louis for the 2003-04 academic year.

Pobst, a biological anthropology major, made the list released by the Great Lakes Valley Conference for the second consecutive year.

Entering his junior year, the Dean's List student-athlete will be a three-time member of UMSL's Pierre Laclede Honors College.

Pobst has compiled a two-year varsity tennis record of 24-10 in singles play and 17-8 in doubles matches.

Four members of the seven-man tennis roster were named to the Academic All-Conference team.
