PORTAGEVILLE -- Portageville's softball team make quick work of North Pemiscot on Tuesday, beating the Lady Mustangs 21-6 in three innings.
Mindy Stafford picked up the win, allowing two hits and five walks with six strikeouts.
At the plate, Alyson Crafton, Jo Beth Delisle, Jenny Brasher and Heather Turley were all 2-for-2. Crafton and Turley each had doubles. Beth St. Mary also added a double and Stafford contributed a triple in the win.
"We've been working really hard on our batting in practice," said Portageville coach Michelle Goodbred. "We went around 2 1/2 times in the first inning today. Our batters aren't standing up there, waiting for walks. They've been working really hard on making contact with the ball."
North Pemiscot's Hoggard was charged with the loss. Boatwright and Rivera had the team's two hits.
Portageville (2-3) will travel to Scott City on Thursday at 4 p.m.
