SIKESTON -- Sikeston's golf team lost a triangular meet against Dexter and Jackson on Tuesday afternoon at the Sikeston Country Club.

Jackson checked in with a 152, Dexter had a 157 and the Bulldogs came in third with a 165.

"The team hasn't performed to the level I expect of them yet," said Sikeston coach Rick Oetting. "I feel we are doing a better job of recovering from mistakes and keeping the scores down. It just isn't getting us the scores we need to beat the competition."

E.C. Atchison led Sikeston with a 39. Tanner Fritz, Matt Bain, Matt Hon and Clint Bohannon all shot 42s for the Bulldogs.

In Tuesday's junior varsity match, Dexter beat Sikeston 172-182. For Sikeston, Martin Schaefer scored a 43, Ed Pike scored a 44, Derris had a 47 and Jacob Marsh scored a 48.

Sikeston's golf team will host Notre Dame and Jackson at the Bootheel Golf Club today at 4 p.m.
