FRUITLAND - Gladys Bollinger Moore, 79, died April 16, 2003, at her home.
Born July 26, 1923, in Bell City, daughter of the late Lon and Grace Loftin Bollinger, she had been employed by McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corporation in St. Louis. She owned and operated Moore's Grocery at Indian Creek and the Auction Barn Restaurant in Fruitland. Mrs. Moore and her husband also raised, trained and showed registered quarter horses. They were instrumental in bringing the American Quarter Horse Association to Southeast Missouri.
On June 4, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., she married Clifford Ray Moore who preceded her in death on May 14, 1977.
Surviving are one sister, Martha Rasmussen of Fruitland; one brother, Will Roy Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister and two brothers also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Rocky Tallent will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Bell City.
Pallbearers will be: James Rasmussen, Lloyd Bollinger, James Bollinger, Michael Bollinger, Ronald Ketterer, Roger P. Moore, J. Matthew Moore and Scott Amick.
