SIKESTON - Next Saturday, the office of the Scott County Ration Board will be moved from the courthouse at Benton to the city hall at Oran. Securing larger and more comfortable quarters is the reason for removal to this new location.
BLOOMFIELD - Stoddard County may become one of the larger producers of broiler chickens, according to Jesse Burnett of Bloomfield. The annual output is expected to reach 3 million by next year when a total of eight new brooder houses here and around Dexter are under production. The chickens will be processed in the plant at Dexter.
SIKESTON - The employees of the laboratory at Missouri Delta Community Hospital donated $425 to the expansion fund Wednesday from proceeds of selling chances on an afghan made by Loreta Watson. The lab employees also made individual personal contributions totaling $7,992.
EAST PRAIRIE - Service organizations honored a Member of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet Thursday night at East Prairie. Recipients are Gene Thresher, Jaycee Award; L.C. SIKESTON - One First National Plaza in Sikeston, the community's largest building and newest banking facility, held its grand opening Sunday at the corner of Main Street and Malone Avenue.
CHARLESTON - Electees to the Charleston R-1 School District's Board of Education were given the oath of office Tuesday by Martha Moody, board secretary. Elected board members are Debbie Corse, Rosetta Bradley and Clay Shelby.
