Are we going to vote for a new governor again or senator? Or are we going to vote for a live body?

To the person who said 95 percent of the Sikeston people are on welfare. This is a big misunderstanding. The most money people on welfare with one or two kids even gets is $297-$350. That's only around $4,000 or $5,000 a year. I work for a farmer and I just saw him get a government check for $10,000. So if you want to talk about welfare, you need to start talking about farmers' welfare. I'll bet money that Michael Jensen won't print this. I've seen it many times. When you talk about welfare, you need to talk about farmers' welfare.

I just came from the Junior Miss Sikeston contest. My cousin won the contest. After the contest was over and we were out front, there was a woman who was wearing blue jean pants and a blue jean shirt talking on her cell phone, saying really ugly things about one of the contestants who had on the simplest dress and the rest of them all had nice dresses and I think the judges did their job. They picked the girl who had the most class out of them. This mother or whoever she was who was making the ugly comments apparently didn't have the class that the Junior Miss Sikeston does have.

This is concerning Jean Carnahan speaking out about morals, when she used the sneaky back-door approach to get her $5,000 salary raise. I believe she must think morals (apparently when it is to your advantage) is all right. She should either practice morals or quit teaching them.

I would like to SpeakOut about the comment that was printed in the Sept. 27 article about the Quick-Sack here in Morehouse. The person said different ones watch customers when they come in and what they buy. I would like to SpeakOut against the paper for putting that in since the paper hasn't come over here and taken a picture of the building and find out who is the new owner.

This is for the person who called about the "old codgers" at the Quick Sack in Morehouse. One of those old codgers happens to be my grandpa and if you're not old enough and mature enough not to be embarrassed and uncomfortable of things that everyone goes through, then you need to grow up.

I called SpeakOut about the cuts in Medicaid and put in where people can write to. But I haven't seen it in the paper yet.

Thank you for your contribution to SpeakOut. With the volume of calls we get (about 150 just this past week), it is impossible to get calls printed as soon as they are called in. The quantity and length of calls, along with the amount of space in each paper, determines how long it takes for comments to be printed.

Events like the one where two guys attacked the K.C. Royals coach will definitely lead to beer being banned in ballparks. Then people will have to carry their friends into the game instead of out of it.
