EAST PRAIRIE --
The Dexter Bearcats had no trouble disposing of East Prairie on Friday night, defeating the Eagles 47-0 on the road.
It's Dexter's third straight win of the season to improve to 3-2.
The Bearcats had another big night out of senior tailback Matt Burnett, who rushed for 185 yards on 16 carries with touchdown runs of 9, 51 and 46.
Dexter rushed for 304 yards on 39 carries in the game. Fullback Ryan Hyslop ran for 56 yards on four carries with a score.
Willie Dooley started the scoring for Dexter with a 65-yard punt return at the 8:04 mark of the first quarter.
After Burnett and Hyslop each scored on runs, Drew Wethington intercepted a Dez Johnson pass and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown.
Dexter led 27-0 after one quarter. Burnett added two more TD runs in the second quarter to make it 40-0 at halftime.
Quarterback Preston Clark scored on an 8-yard TD run in the third quarter to round out the scoring.
The Bearcats held East Prairie to 52 total yards of offense. Brent Harland led the Eagles with 49 yards rushing on 14 carries.
Dexter will host Charleston on Friday at 7:30 p.m. East Prairie will attempt to stop a 12-game losing streak when they play at Chaffee, losers of nine straight, on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
