Helen Marks

EAST PRAIRIE -- Helen Marks, 78, died at 3:03 a.m. April 29, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 9, 1926, at East Prairie, daughter of the late George W. and Berdie Bright Whitlock, she had lived all of her life in East Prairie, where she was a member of the First General Baptist Church.

Her husband, Willie Marks, preceded her in death.

One son, Ronnie Whitlock, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two stepsons, William Marks and Kem Marks of Sikeston; three stepdaughters, Stella Marcum, Judy Bramlett and Lisa Cogdill of East Prairie; one sister, Bernice Leser of Grand Blanc, Mich.; and nine stepgrandchildren and 16 great-stepgrandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Dale Billingsley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
