SIKESTON - Tech. fifth grade William Hadderson of Route Three has been listed by the War Department as wounded in action in the North African area.


SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Potashnick are receiving congratulations on the birth of twins. Frances Vivian and Samuel Jackson Potashnick were born at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

SIKESTON - The drama department of Sikeston High School will present the musical "Oklahoma" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The musical, complete with an orchestra, is in its final week of rehearsals. Members of the orchestra include John Moorman, LaVerne Sanders, Thomas Hughes, Laura Nunnelee, Duane DeCota, Lois Freeman, Lisa Burden, Brian Menz, Susan James and Laura Southern. Band director is Jane Harold and the musical is directed by Gordon Beaver.

SIKESTON - Proceeds from the bridge marathon were presented to Kathleen Wissman, director of the Heritage House in Sikeston during the last day of play Friday. The marathon began in January with 92 individuals participating in this year's event. Louise Conn, Irene Hopper and Lillian Standley served as organizers.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston sixth grade traveling team took first place at a recent tournament at Scott Central. Team members are Tyler Trum, Brent Pearson, Stephen Pobst, Justin Pobst, Matt Drake, Ben Walters, Derek Ellis, Mark Silverthorn and Brandon Barnes. Coaches are Mark Silverthorn Mike Pobst and Rufus Barnes.
