CATRON - Ernest Tubbs, 56, died March 25, 2003, at his home.

Born July 17, 1946, in Avery, Texas, he was the son of the late Dorothy Robert and Mattie Olds Tubbs.

On Oct. 11, 1968, in Delka, Texas, he married Barbara Tubbs who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ernest A. Tubbs and Corey A. Tubbs of Catron; three daughters, Tena Borders, JoAnn Tubbs and Ashley M. Tubbs of Catron; two brothers, Loyd Tubbs of Clarksville, Texas, and Bruce Tubbs of Eupora, Miss.; two sisters, Jannie Denning and Glenda F. Denning of Eupora; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. Frank Townsend of Parma will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
