EAST PRAIRIE -- Floyd Samuel Thresher, 86, died at 3:30 a.m. April 26, 2003, at his residence.
Born May 21, 1916, in Arkansas, son of the late Eli and Hattie Harland Thresher, he was a retired farmer and lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of East Prairie.
On May 25, 1940, he married Alfreda McIllwain who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sue Thresher, Gene and Jean Thresher and Terry and Tammy Thresher of East Prairie; one sister, Gertrude Bain of East Prairie; and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mickey Thresher, four brothers and one sister.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. George White officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
