SIKESTON - Four little fellows went to the hospital Wednesday to have their tonsils removed. They were: Frederick Stroud, Mary Lou Stroud, Betty Stroud and Lee Oscar Matthews.

MINER - An Illinois couple has been arrested in connection with the burglary at Bacher's Supermarket in Miner Tuesday night.

SIKESTON - After a presentation from David Ziegenhorn, a representative of the quality of life committee, the Sikeston Development Council approved a new sign ordinance.

SIKESTON - The first "Breakfast with the City" was conducted early today with City Manager Robert Knabel and Public Works Director Paul Lorton.

SIKESTON - It was really three shows in one Friday night as Shelly West and David Frizzell performed in duet and solo acts at the Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo.

SIKESTON - Jay's Chicken, 218 N. Main in Sikeston, recently celebrated the opening of its new mega food bar. The buffet is a full-line salad bar plus roasted and fried chicken and other items. Present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Pat Marble, Will Bucher, Mike Moll, Jeff Miles, Pete Burns, Jamie Lancaster, owner Lynn Lancaster, Mike Marshall, Mary Etta Lancaster and Sharon Black.

SIKESTON - This was no ordinary weekend for Sikeston resident Brenda Crites. Mrs. Crites was crowned Mrs. Missouri Saturday at a pageant conducted at the Ramada Inn. She was chosen out of nine contestants to hold the title.
