Cox wins tournament

SIKESTON - The Bootheel Bassbusters held their eighth tournament of the year on Aug. 17 on Lake Barkley out of Devil's Elbow.

Leven Cox won the tournament with a six-fish limit of bass weighing 13 lbs., 4 oz.

Jim Sindle was second with 4 lbs., 9 oz., and Jim Davis took third place honors with 4 lbs., 8 oz. Davis also won the "Lucky Drawing."

Jerry Dement had the tournament big bass with a 4 lb., 2 oz. fish.

Stan Pace maintains his lead in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 1,343 points.

Cox is second with 1,252 points and Ty Garrett is third with 944 points.

The club travels to the Fenton ramp on Kentucky Lake for their next tournament on Sept. 7.
