JEFFERSON CITY - A Sikeston resident was selected to serve on the Missouri Clean Water Commission.
Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointment Monday of Dr. Sam M. Hunter to serve an unexpired term on the board ending April 12, 2008. The appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
According to the board's mission statement, the Commission seeks conserves the water of the state and protects, maintains and improve the quality of public water supplies. The Clean Water Commission adopts regulations and policies to carry out planning, monitoring, permitting, enforcement and grant assistance activities to carry out the state's Clean Water Laws.
