LAS VEGAS -- Cara Brown and Steve McClanahan were married July 25, 2005, at the Forever Grand Chapel of the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
The bride is the daughter of Cathy Brown of Bertrand and the late James D. Brown, and the bridegroom is the son of Steve and Chris McClanahan of Charleston.
Jennie Grigsby, college roommate of the bride, was the maid of honor. Steve McClanahan served his son as best man. Escorting the bride down the aisle was Bruce DeField.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the New York, New York Hotel. Area residents in attendance were the couple's parents, along with Janet and Bruce DeField and their children, Allison and Andrew; Jennie O'Rourke and Jordan Smoot; Amy Butler; Michelle and DeWayne Garrett; Ellenann Howton; Shirley Jeffries; Britt Duke and Jana Murdock; and Matt Thompson. Other guests were Brenda and Terry Morton of Columbia, Mo.; Pat and Jim Butler of Trenton, Mich.; Dana and Sean Partaker of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; Jennie Grigsby of Wichita, Kan.; and Carol Finley and Bud Rush of Metropolis, Ill.
A 1999 graduate of Charelston High School, the bride is also a 2003 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., with a degree in computer information systems. Her husband is a 1997 graduate of Charleston High School and a 2003 graduate of the St. Louis School of Pharmacy.
The new Mr. and Mrs. McClanahan reside in Springfield's Chesterfield Village, where they are both employed at Walgreen's.
