EAST PRAIRIE -- Aline Nelson, 81, formerly of Sikeston, died at 11:55 a.m. July 1, 2005, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 26, 1923, at Cardwell, to the late Samuel M. and Irene Thompson Hyde Sr., she lived several years in Sikeston, where she was employed as a supervisor for National Lock. She was of the Pentecostal belief.
On March 28, 1942, she married John O. Nelson who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1994.
One grandson, Sid Ashley Patrick; one brother, William Hyde; and two sisters, Doris Elders and Bonne B. Hyde, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, John Delano Nelson of Sikeston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda "B.J." Nelson of Sikeston and Janet and Bob Oatsvall and Frona and Sid Patrick of East Prairie; five brothers, Samuel Hyde of Lemay, Norris Hyde of Sikeston, Jerome Hyde of Gelesby, Ill., Hewey Hyde of Hillsboro and John Hyde of Arnold; three sisters, Lennie Crittendon of House Springs, Bonita Slate of Arnold and Colotha Marshall of Fort Worth, Texas; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Mike Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Oatsvall, Jordie Oatsvall, Shannon Oatsvall, Tim Brown, Britton Davis and Chad Patrick.
