SIKESTON - Clarence Scott has bought William Jones' interest in the Sikeston laundry.


SIKESTON - An independent baseball team for Sikeston was organized at a meeting Wednesday with Gene Buckles chosen as manager. Bud Schrader will be the coach and Jack Harrison, secretary-treasurer.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston High School girls track team enjoyed a banner day Thursday as they sewed up 10 first place finishes en route to a 75-60 victory over Charleston.

PORTAGEVILLE - Despite being named one of the top 10 facilities in Missouri that released toxic chemicals in 1993, officials at Plastene Supply Company in Portageville said Wednesday they have reduced pollutant emissions.
