Monday accident

The Sikeston Rescue Squad responded to a one-vehicle accident at 1:40 p.m. Monday on Highway 60, one mile west of Sikeston. Also responding were members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Morehouse Fire Department. According to Patrol reports, the accident occurred as Kenneth R. Merideth, 65, of Essex was traveling westbound and lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement. Merideth's vehicle then traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned in the median. Merideth's passenger, Charlotte R. Merideth, 65, of Essex sustained minor injuries and was transported to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
