SIKESTON - Cletus Dohogne has been employed as accountant for the firm of Berry Patmor and Day and will assume his new position next Monday.

SIKESTON - Lynn Twitty, superintendent of Sikeston Public Schools and a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve, is currently undergoing training at a Marine Corps School in Quantico, Va. Twitty was ordered to duties for training in counter-insurgency. The course will be completed June 27 and he will return to assume his duties with the school.

SIKESTON - Summer workshops sponsored by the Sikeston Arts and Education Council ended Friday as nearly 100 students put the final touches on their projects. During the classes, under the direction of Judy Comer and Sheila Bohannon, students in grades 2 through 5 received instruction in art appreciation, oil painting, ceramics, tempra painting and stained glass.

SIKESTON - Marcy Marie Swogger, a 1995 graduate of Sikeston Senior High School and the daughter of George and Janice Swogger of Sikeston, was recently presented the 1995 Astra Scholarship Award by Pat Lambert of the Altrusa International Club of Sikeston. The award was in recognition of her services to the community and her outstanding scholastic achievement.

SIKESTON - They play ball in Sikeston but have a following in their hometown of East Prairie. Nick Thurman of the Big Book Club recently presented a $150 donation to Sikeston American Legion Post 114 for East Prairie players Jason Aycock, Darin Kinsolving and Page Owens. The money will help cover playing fees for the three athletes.
