SIKESTON - J.F. Cox last week sold his residence on Southwest Street to Burt Rowe. Last Thursday the Home Oil Company purchased the B.F. Forrester home on West Gladys.

BLOOMFIELD - A total of $167,207 was spent for public assistance in Stoddard County for the month of July. This is an increase of $5,900.

ORAN - Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dale of Oran are the parents of a son, their sixth child, born Friday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

NEW MADRID - The $3 million bond issue failed to garner even half of the votes cast in Tuesday's election from New Madrid County R-1 School District voters.

SIKESTON - The 20th Annual Charity Walk for the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center will be Oct. 23. The event is sponsored each year by Sikeston Eagles Lodge 3319 to help children who attend the center.

SIKESTON - Pansy Glenn received her 10-year service award from John Nelsen, director of U.S. Agronomics. Ten-year service pins were also presented to Priscilla Turner, Sam Shy, Dick Griffin, Tom Essay and Bill Sexton.
