SIKESTON - Norma Jean Mitchem, 58, died at 10:45 p.m. June 7, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Dec. 15, 1946, in Burdette, Ark., daughter of the late Oscar and Lillie Irene Bowers Watkins, she graduated from Richland High School. She was a dental assistant for Dr. John Doggett and was of the Baptist belief.
On Dec. 23, 1964, in Bell City, she married Richard Mitchem who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to her husband include: three sons, Richard Scott Mitchem of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rodney William Mitchem of Tanner and Russell Wade Mitchem of Advance; three brothers, Johnny Watkins of Sikeston and Don Watkins and Junior Watkins of Oran; one sister, Pam Wefenstette of Tanner; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Watkins and Jack Watkins; and one sister, Linda Mitchem.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Larry Jackson, pastor of the Morley Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Pallbearers will be Michael Robards, Jeff Mitchem, Michael Ramsey, Don Watkins, Johnny Watkins and Danny Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Mitchem, J.R. Watkins, Jimmy Watkins, Mike Watkins and Jerry Lowes.
