SIKESTON - The Sikeston tennis team had much of Tuesday's match rained out against Fredericktown, but it will count as the two were able to get five complete matches in.

Sikeston won all five matches to defeat Fredericktown 5-0.

Only two singles matches were played as Jeri Nichols beat Jodi Cooper 8-4 and Chelsea Gilliland beat Chelsey Aireton 8-0.

Sikeston won all the doubles matches. Elizabeth Killion and Lindsay Leible won 8-4; Charlie Richey and Nichols won 8-3; and Gilliland and Emily Bowman won 8-6.

"All of the girls were playing good when the rain hit," said Sikeston head coach Lynne DeWitt. "All the doubles matches were great. They were all working hard."

Sikeston will play at Kennett on Thursday at 4 p.m.
