"The varsity is still playing a little too inconsistent," said Sikeston coach Steve Beydler. "We are continually placing the ball over the net without terminating it. (The other team) is able to run their offense and then put the ball back. We are consistently having to play on the defensive."
On the serving end, Rachael Vining had 4 attempts, 0 aces, 0 errors and 2 service points. Other servers were Paige Kaiser (6-1-0-3), Erin Box (8-1-1-6), Maggie Pfefferkorn (6-0-3-1), Audra Wooley (2-0-0-0), Leo Voss (3-0-0-0) and Quinn Kaiser (8-3-2-5).
Kaiser had two kills, Vining added one. Berneatress Hunt had two kills and three blocks. Wooley had two kills and one block, and Quinn Kaiser provided one kill.
"The team is having trouble getting more than one point," said Beydler. "We're not stringing together two and three points, and the other team seems to consistently get two or three here and two or three there, and slowly pull away."
Sikeston will be back in action on Thursday, hosting Chaffee. In Tuesday's junior varsity match, Sikeston beat Portageville 26-24, 25-18.

Other servers were Kiarra Morris (9-2-1-6), Khassie Patterson (5-0-0-2), Amber Anthony (18-3-1-14), Lindsey Wright (8-1-0-4) and Casey Ray (4-0-1-2).
"I'm pleased with the way the jayvee is playing," said Beydler. "We're coming together as a team and playing aggressively."

The junior varsity team improves to 8-5-3 with the win.
