EAST PRAIRIE - Nora Edith "Jim" Myers, 87, died at 9:25 a.m. April 13, 2005, at the Monticello House Nursing Center in Jackson.
Born May 23, 1917, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Charles S. and Della Pierce Kirkindall, she lived most of her life in East Prairie where she was a member of the First Christian Church. She worked for several years at the Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis, at Prairie Manufacturing, and at the Martin School as a teacher's aide.
In March 1935 she married Floyd William "Son" Myers who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1971.
One granddaughter, Lisa Strayhorn; one brother, C.S. Kirkindall, and two sisters, Grace Wainwright and Urma Jean Issensee, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters, Peggy Strayhorn of Perryville and Nancy Jenkins Young of Ballwin; three grandchildren, Lee Strayhorn of O'Fallon, Penny Smith of Fenton and Todd Young of St. Louis; and eight great-
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday with Martin Lucas and Larry Lane officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
