CHARLESTON -- In commemoration of their golden wedding anniversary, the Rev. and Mrs. Ted Wimberley of Charleston will be guests of honor for a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Charleston.
Wimberley and the former Virginia Cox were married July 3, 1953, in Rector, Ark. For 42 years, the couple served as pastors of Southern Baptist churches in Missouri and Tennessee before retiring five years ago.
They are the parents of three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rita Abernathy of Chicago, Ill., Terry and Sharon Dick of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard and Lesa Bray of Woodbury, Tenn.; and have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration. The couple requests that gifts be omitted.
