Speakout 7/7

Thursday, July 7, 2005

I have never seen such a disregard for the law as there is in Sikeston. Chief Juden has to go so far as to remind people of the laws in the newspapers. He doesn't have to do that but the thick-headed people who think they are above the law just don't get it. I understand that parents don't have any control over their children once they get a car and start selling drugs so they can put fancy wheels and the loudest speakers they can find in their cars. But now, we are dealing with the fireworks again. This is young kids that I have seen shooting them. I know their parents have to be buying them although for as long as I can remember it is against the law to shoot fireworks in Sikeston. That just goes to show that their parents are teaching them to disobey the laws, too. Sikeston is full of people who think they can do whatever they want to and this is a learned trait, starting with the grandparents, parents and now the children, who are also having children teaching them to be hoodlums and disrespect anyone with authority. I agree with Mike Jensen, if we get rid of some of this Section 8 housing we will get rid of a lot of Sikeston's problems.

Mr. Jensen, I agree with you that Gov. Jeb Bush should leave the Terry Schiavo case alone. Let the woman rest in peace. Always the politicians have to jump in and keep the media stirred up. Tom Delay was hoping people would forget the problem he is in and always the Rev. Jackson in the spotlight. I feel they have exploited this woman for their own gain. For that, they may all go to hell in a handbasket. Enough is enough is enough.

I want to Speakout about what happened in Connecticut with the Supreme Court justices saying a corporation can take over someone's property for no reason. What I had to say what has happened to all men are created equal? Not if you are a plain, everyday working Joe Schmo in Connecticut. The Supreme Court justices have ruled that if you are a bigwig businessman he can take away your home to make way for yet another hotel and health club. This sounds like the Salem witch trials all over again. They are not being burned by fire but they are being burned by power. Poor helpless people have their property taken away during the Salem witch hunts by rich and powerful men who wanted it. We are sacrificing our young people to give the world freedom and democracy while this country is turning into a tyranny for the rich. God bless America.

I would like to Speakout about the whole welfare Medicaid issue. I know how to fix the problem. First, take the ones who are working and trying to make a living, everyone who isn't working, kick them off, except for the elderly and the truly disabled. Give it a week, they will get off their lazy butts and get a job once they see the government won't give them everything for free. Then have someone from the Welfare office sit in the bingo halls every night and the ones that are there, cut them off because if they have money for bingo they have money for their own groceries. You walk into bingo and you constantly see somebody selling food stamps so they can play. That is the reason why we are having the big issue now. If they would sit there and go through all this we could fix the problem in no time.

There is a great black radio station that comes on Sunday morning. I think it is 92.6. The guy is really doing a great job. They play the best gospel music I have ever heard in my life. I also would like to know how, where and when can I get some of the music they are playing. If they would like to leave their numbers in Speakout I would like to call them to buy CDs or tapes or whatever they have to offer. I would like to say thank God and I pray that they prosper and get the best life has to offer. They are great to listen to. Everybody turn on your radio.

Dental patients with Medicaid will be covered through Sept. 1.
