SIKESTON - Gladys Beatrice Stewart, 94, joined the Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Heartland Health and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 4, 1911, in Sikeston, daughter of the late William "Bill" and Edith Mae Cora Swinney, she was a member of First Christian Church in Sikeston for over 80 years and was employed at the Missouri State Employment Service for over 30 years.
On Sept. 4, 1932, she married Hugh David Stewart, who preceded her in death in July of 1969.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janet Sue Lohr of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, David L. Lohr of Olathe, Kan., and John S. Lohr of Cape Girardeau; and three great-grandchildren, Lucas R. Helwege of Cape Girardeau and Alison M. Lohr and Sara A. Lohr, both of Olathe.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. Monday until service time at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Sikeston with Dr. Allen Shriver, pastor, will officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
