LILBOURN - A demonstration of the ancient art of yoga will be presented by Ed Schetter at the Lilbourn High School next Thursday. Schetter has been in the physical fitness field all his life, starting at the age of 6 when he took part in the strict American Turner Society, an organization known for producing Olympic athletes.
KENNETT - The Dexter Bearcats are playoff bound. The Dexter team with its 9-1 record will take on Festus, which is undefeated with 10 wins. Dexter came from behind to defeat playoff-bound Kennett 6-5 and win a trip to the playoffs in high school football action.
EAST PRAIRIE - Another benchmark in the Enterprise Community's 10-year strategic plan was reached Thursday evening when the city and R-2 School District signed an Education Incentive Program agreement. A maximum of $17,000 in Enterprise funds will go toward fulfillment of the agreement with $12,500 earmarked for student incentives and the remaining $4,500 for teacher incentives.
SIKESTON - Veterans of America's wars will be honored during a Veteran's Day ceremony Saturday. Originally scheduled in Veteran's Park, the ceremony has been moved to the First Christian Church due to the weather forecast and predicted chill. The guest speaker will be Norman Gourley, retired United States Marine Corps major general. Retired United States Air Force Col. Neal Wagley will sing the national anthem
