Two arrested in shooting death

CHARLESTON - The Charleston Department of Public Safety has two suspects in custody in connection with the murder of a Chicago man.

DPS officials arrested Adrian L. Lewis, 22, and Randall C. Lewis, 23, of Charleston on Sunday for the shooting death of Marvin Partee. Partee was shot in the head Sunday with a 9 mm hand gun, resulting in instant death.

Adrian Lewis is charged with first degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of weapon and first degree assault. He is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail on $500,000 bond

Randall Lewis is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail. His bond is set at $100,000.

Reportedly the early morning shooting following an argument between several individuals in the parking lot of the Gas-A-Mat on West Marshall Street in Charleston Sunday. Partee, who was seated in the front passenger side of his girlfriend's car at the time of the shooting, was driven by her to a residence on Gail Street, where the Mississippi County Ambulance Service and Charleston DPS were called to respond.

The Mississippi County Coroner Terry Parker pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Partee's remains have been returned to the Leak Funeral Home in Chicago at the request of his family. No services are scheduled in Charleston.
