This is to "The cat's in the bag." Why don't you put your trash in a trash can with a tight lid on it then the cat won't be tearing your trash up.

Scott County has one of the worst health departments that I have seen. This is in regards to the person who called in with the hair in the food. I experienced the same situation. I have contacted the health department and they have done nothing. You can go to Cape Girardeau and contact the health department for Cape County and you get quick results. I don't think the county people realize that the restaurant's food is to be inspected once a year and the schools' twice a year - once when school starts and once when they go back after Christmas break. Until we put our foot down and say we want to clean up these restaurant, the health department will not do what they are getting paid to do.

The Scott County Health Department responded with the following statement: "We apologize to the caller who contacted us with a complaint and feels that the situation was not handled in a professional manner. Any complaint that is within our authority to investigate is taken seriously and we will do our best to deal with the matter as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. Your Scott County Health Department has recently (in February) hired a full-time inspector and the level of inspections has increased and will continue to do so, leading to a stronger overall food program. If anyone has a concern about a specific establishment in the county or just a concern in general, we welcome them to call us directly with those concerns."

I know stubborn red neck politics. Here it is August 2005 and the United States is still at war and going through a war over the president. The design groups that have supported this president originally is the rich elite that support him because of tax breaks and the laws that the president passes that help the rich and wealthy. Then there is the group called the Republican Christian group that will side with Bush with just about anything that he says that he tries to use as a Sunday school Bible lesson on his shoulder. The major problem I have with this is God created man to love each other no matter what his offenses are. But the Middle East being of mostly Islam faith, us Americans can not change that and in my eyes that is the reason we are over there. For that and the potential amount of oil. By Bush saying he is freeing the people of Iraq, well, I can't buy that because there are far worse country than Iraq and it is now in worse shape then before the war started. I, myself, think it is time to get all the red-neck republicans out of politics because I am sick and tired of seeing our good old boys dying because of misinformation. By the way, the cowboy days are over. The red-neck Republicans can let go of their horse and buy a four-cylinder car because big daddy Bush is getting his pockets full.
