Born Feb. 6, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wis., son of the late Stefan and Josephine Mazurkiewicz, he was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War and was a machinist at the Ladish Company before retiring.
On July 2, 1988, in Zion, Ill., he married Mary Jester Massey, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, George Mazurkiewicz and Richard Mazurkiewicz of South Milwaukee; one daughter, Betty Tavidian of Denver, Colo.; one stepson, Randy Massey of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Sherry Mitchell of Kankakee, Ill.; two sisters, Arlene Mazurkiewicz and Alice Mazurkiewicz of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Lara Disner of Arvada, Colo., Mary Leroy, Arwen Mitchell and Abby Mitchell of Kankakee; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Disner of Arvada and Landon Massey and Logan Massey of Jacksonville, Fla.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Garrett Jester, a United Pentecostal minister, officiated.
Burial followed in the Holy Resurrection Armenian Cemetery in South Milwaukee.
