Rhoma Thompson

PIEDMONT - Rhoma Joyce Smith-Thompson, 63, died Oct. 12, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 26, 1940, near Piedmont, daughter of the late Ray Eads and Evelyn Melton Wischet, she was a line worker for Missouri Leather Products and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include: one daughter, Marilyn Mathis of Morehouse; one brother, Raymond Eads; two sisters, Shirley Barney of Reno, Nev., and Melba Joann Mawson of La Mesa, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery near Piedmont.
