Bob Wood

DELTA - Robert Clifton "Bob" Wood, 83, died Feb. 18, 2005, at the Legacy Nursing Center in Bay City, Texas.

Born June 19, 1921, in Peculiar, son of the late Leroy M. and Leta Mae Britton Wood, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a teacher and coach with the Delta R-5 School District, had been a member, Sunday school teacher and former deacon of the First Baptist Church in Delta and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bay City.

He is survived by two daughters, Abby Bundick of Sweeney, Texas, and Beth Browning of McAllen, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

One brother and five sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Delta with the Rev. Bradley Fowler officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hitt Cemetery near Arbor.
