SCOTT CITY - Rebecca Edna Walker, 88, formerly of Mississippi County, died Feb. 19, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 27, 1916, near East Prairie, daughter of the late Albert Gibson and Sarah Annie Huffman Alsup Bishop Derrington, she graduated in 1934 from East Prairie High School. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau and had recently attended Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City.

On July 27, 1935, in Bollinger County, she married Earl Walker who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy Sue and Cleatus Raines of Tucson, Ariz., Peggy and Don Gross of Scott City and Sharon and David Hohler of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Kimberly Greer of Mankato, Minn., Kerri Doyle of Wylie, Texas, Greg Gross of Scott City and Dr. Jeffrey Raines of Coon Rapids, Minn.; and three great-grandchildren.

Seven brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 11 a.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Bill Burke, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene of Cape Girardeau, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
