CHAFFEE - Leonard N. Carroll, 84, died at 6:15 a.m. Oct. 3, 2003, at his family home.
Born June 14, 1919, to the late William and Loretta Carroll Miller, he was a retired self-employed farmer and carpenter. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a first lieutenant with the 1874 Engineers during World War II, he was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church at New Hamburg, St. Joseph Sodality, Carpenters Local 1770 of Cape Girardeau, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16 of Cape Girardeau and the Morley Veteran of Foreign Wars Chapter 5368.
On Oct. 12, 1946, in Mayfield, Ky., he married Ruth B. Nations who survives.
Also surviving are: one son, Bill Carroll of Chaffee; one daughter, Judi Coleman of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Edward Carroll of Eureka; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery at New Hamburg.
