CHAFFEE - Adria Anne Meyr, 23, died Oct. 1, 2003, at Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Va.

Born April 27, 1980, to Glen M. and Corliss Grossheider Meyr of Chaffee, she was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Chaffee where she was a member of the church youth group. As a youth she was active in Scouting, 4-H, school activities and community sports.

A 1998 graduate of Chaffee High School, she participated in tennis, basketball, softball, drill team, cheerleading and band. She was a member of many clubs including FBLA, FHA, French Club, Varsity Club, Beta Club, BEC, TOAD, Pep Club, student council and was chosen Spirit Leader in 1998. She was a honor student.

In college she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and was on the Dean's List. She received a bachelor of science degree in recreation and leisure studies from Southwest Missouri State University of Springfield in the spring of 2003.

She had been employed by the City of Chaffee, the City of Union and as a St. Louis County Parks intern and in retail sales. She was most recently conference and education assistant intern for the National Recreation and Park Association in Ashburn, Va.

Surviving in addition to her parents are: two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lorie and Daniel Perry of St. Louis and Callie Meyr of Chaffee; her paternal grandmother, Gertrude Meyr of Chaffee; and her maternal grandmother, Wilma Grossheider of Gordonville.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating.

Burial will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Gabe Pfefferkorn, John Hanlon, Nick Swinford, Jamie Dumey, Cyle Huck and Jad Abboll.
