Nadine Richard

MARSHFIELD - Nadine Richard, 76, formerly of Dexter, died Oct. 1, 2003, at the St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Born Jan. 16, 1927, in Stoddard County to the late Jesse and Hazel Dickerson Gaines, she was a retired licensed practical nurse at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

On Aug. 16, 1975, at Dexter, she married James O. Richard who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Denton A. Lashley of Desloge; two daughters, Becky Lashley Rogers of Elkland and Tamara Lashley Valdez of LaLuz, N.M.; one stepson, James A. Richard of Copemish, Mich; one stepdaughter, Debra McCormick of Grand Blanc, Mich; three brothers, Gene Gaines of Poplar Bluff and Donald Gaines and Bobby Gaines of Dexter; one sister, Helen Jones of Dexter; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Karen Lee Lashley; one brother, Richard Gaines; and two sisters, Ruth Ellen Taylor and Marcella Gaines.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Keith Garland will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
