Shooting investigated

An officer of the Sikeston Department of Public Safety was fired upon Tuesday night in the 1000 block of Ruth Street after a vehicle chase. Pictured are members of the Sikeston DPS, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Scott County Sheriff's Department standing by the bullet-riddled car. A bullet passed through the front windshield and the front passenger-side quarter panel. Suspects fled the scene. No further information was available at press time. Individuals with information to the shooting should call the DPS at 471-6200.
