SIKESTON - Ross L. Teuber, 88, formerly of Albuquerque, N.M., died at 12:25 p.m. Aug. 21, 2006, at Clearview Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 28, 1918, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of the late Verne L. and Mabel Frances Houghton Teuber, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in forestry and was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Albuquerque where he taught Sunday school, was an usher and was active in the Emmaus alumni group. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 30 years in Arizona and New Mexico before retiring in 1978. He volunteered many hours at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge and Sevillita National Wildlife Refuge and was active for many years in the New Mexico Ornithological Society.
On Oct. 16, 1942, in Ames, Iowa, he married Clara Elizabeth Griffith who preceded him in death on April 19, 2004.
One brother and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Larry R. and Suzanne Teuber of Davis, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Ann and Thomas L. Jennings of Sikeston; and four granddaughters, Stephanie Teuber and Melissa Teuber of Davis and Katherine Jennings and Kimberly Jennings of Sikeston.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE, in Albuquerque. The Rev. Clyde Stanfield of St. Johns United Methodist Church will officiate.
